HAIR GROWTH AND THEIR PHASES

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO WAX AND GET GREAT RESULTS…

HAIR GROWTH AND THEIR PHASES

Ever felt a little left over HAIRS after getting waxed? Here’s why…

That’s due to the hairs still being in the early Anagen phase and not long enough to be removed. Regular waxing every 4 to 5 weeks, its highly likely to get the hair on the same growth cycle, therefore achieving the best wax results.

THE 3 STAGES OF HAIR GROWTH

  1. ANAGENThe Growth / Active Phase

This is the first stage of hair growth and the perfect time to wax and have amazing results. Approximately 85% of all hair on our bodies will be in the Anagen phase at one time. Which makes it the perfect time in the hair growth cycle to wax so is comes out nicely and the hair won’t grow back quick or break.

  1. CATAGENThe Regression / Falling Out Phase

This is the second phase in the hair growth cycle. Catagen is when the hair shaft grows upward and detaches itself from the bulb.

Once the hair has detached itself from the bulb, it also gets cut off from the blood supply. Therefore the hair no longer receives any nutrients or pigment. This is why the hair in this phase looks dull and unhealthy. Only 2 to 3% of the bodies’ hair will be at this phase at the same time.

  1. TELOGEN– The Resting Phase

This is the third and last stage of the hairs life, at this phase is the worst time to wax its ideal not to. The hair will be at its fullest size. In this stage, hairs are completely erect in the follicle, allowing the hair to show above the skin’s surface. The hair is more likely to either shed or fall out during this phase. Only 15% of hair will be at this stage at the same time.
